When Niki started making inner-eco kefir, one of the first people she offered it to was her friend Barbara, whom she'd met in 1994 when they were elementary school teachers in the Denver, Colorado area.
Barb had had digestive issues all her life, and when she tried inner-eco kefir, it was like water on a desert. No doctor had EVER been able to help her digestive issues, and inner-eco was the only thing that ever honestly worked. She became an immediate fan. Such an ardent fan, in fact, that when Niki called her in 2008 to talk about taking inner-eco to the next level, Barb wanted to partner with her. "I believe it's an honest product, and if it worked for me, it will work for others," she said.
Niki and Barb started by making the kefir together in their own kitchens. On March 12, 2008, they established N&B,LLC, and manufacturer inner-eco in an FDA-certified kitchen.
We created inner-eco on the belief that all people deserve honest, pure and natural living foods. Our dairy-free, vegan, young green coconut kefir is simple, pure, and filled with trillions of live cultures. There are no additives, preservatives or added sugars. Everything is fresh and 100% natural. We offer something more than just another health/energy drink—we provide a living food.

Free and Feed
In 1994, Barb and Niki launched the S.T.O.P. (Slavery That Oppresses People) campaign after they read a newspaper article about the abduction and slavery of women and children in Sudan to their fourth-grade class. The shocked students asked how they could help, and everyone put their heads together to come up with action. (Since 1983, when the civil war erupted there, thousands of women and children from south Sudan have been abducted and forced to work as slaves in the north.)
"Nothing in our careers prepared us for the sadness and tears of our students. We had to do something. This was a crusade of children helping children," said Barb.
Niki and Barb suggested their class to write politicians and celebrities about the slavery issue. They searched the internet and found organizations that helped them to get involved with freeing and feeding these people. In a few short years, this anti-slavery campaign grew from one fourth-grade class to involve schools, churches, and individuals in 50 states and 13 countries around the world. Since S.T.O.P was founded, enough money has been raised to free tens of thousands of slaves, and the organization was instrumental in getting the Sudanese Peace Act signed into law. Because of its efforts, slavery in southern Sudan has been replaced with freedom and hope.
Our work continues: "Think locally, act globally."
Although many have been freed, there are still thousands in need of help. inner-eco kefir has dedicated a portion of its proceeds to go to the S.T.O.P campaign, which provides freedom, food, medical care and education to the people of Sudan and Africa.
